Top Ten 2005

Change and growth marked this year. Our matriarch, Granny, passed last February, and my mother began a series of trips, which have made me prouder of her than ever before. Charlie owns a PC laptop and I own a powerbook, which I am enjoying in my slow entrance into the world of *nix systems. Despite this being one of my slowest years on the bike, I feel I have grown through Calvin's Challenge with Nieport and Bob Schoettinger. Working for trucking company and Callahan simultaneously took its toll on me after six months. Fortunately, there was a welcome break and adventure to Yosemite and San Francisco. Katherine provided the best tour ever through four days in San Francisco and had been good enough to attend the racing in Iowa with Hayashi and all the UC racers. Before leaving for the west coast, however, Jim and Beini announced their commitment to each other September 10 in the presence of Danni (Beini's sister and the maid of honor) and myself (the best man). Returning from California I immediately began my first quarter at UC as a graduate student.
Despite the unpredictable nature of the past year, it has clearly been a success and we are currently beginning the new year with new riders at Reser Bicycle anxious to train and do well in the coming year. May the training you are undertaking yield results in your new year!

A young Johnny Adams (or Fuson, or Reser...) drifts his tricycle around a corner:

Actually as a small kid I had a bike with a headlight and turn signals. Along my driveway there was a puddle shaped perfectly such that one of my training wheels could be on the driveway the other in the grass and my drive wheel would spin freely. When it would rain, the puddle would fill and I could pedal as fast as I wanted spraying water all over the place including myself.

the bull, just because you didn't make the top ten doesn't mean it was a boring year for decavirate, it means it was a boring year for you.

Well perhaps just not enough articles were written to document the excitement at Bullard Mansion.

Winnie, I'll be home in a few hours, we should get together and web page... my house or your's?

yeah, a reservation type restaurant isn't really fuson's style. so if they can't seat us, there's always dixie chili or chipotle to choose from.

Fuse @ 2006.01.20 1533

Maybe for the sake of old times, we could bust out a crock pot and take a few hours to cook some minute rice...

no. we're going to dewey's. i just called the newport location, they aren't willing to accept reservations on the weekends so i plan on getting there at 615 or so to put in our name. they can't seat us until half the people are there so if you are coming please plan on being on time so we are able to be seated around 7pm.

Decemvirate. I believe you owe us all an apology for making a word for which there was already.
|
Fuse @ 2006.01.26 1328

Decavirate is the modern, streamlined version of a Decemvirate. We give vowels an equal opportunity and have taken some liberties in shortening the word and making it more palatable to the western tongue.
|
katherine @ 2006.01.26 1440
| |
Adams, Bullard, Fuson, Hartman, Reser, Slattery, Yokel. wouldn't that be Septemvirate?
|
Ned @ 2006.01.26 1813
| |
Oh, so we are making shorter more modern palatable words out of current English words like Decemvirate. With that like of thought "ain't" should be admitted.
